Nemesia

Nemesia is a great annual bedding plant and we have a great selection of plants on offer. Nemesia is an excellent addition to beds, borders, containers, hanging baskets and window boxes. How to grow

Nemesia is an easy plant to grow in our climate and as we have started your plants off all you have left to do is plant them and care for them. If you cannot plant your plugs immediately it is advisable to water them thoroughly and store in a cool and bright place until they can be planted.

Position

Plant Nemesia in a sunny spot where plants are likely to get sufficient sun but not suffer too much from the mid-day sun. Blooms will fade quicker in very sunny spots. It is best to plant Nemesia in an area that has some shelter from the elements to prolong blooming.

Soil

Soil should be free draining and moisture retentive and it should be ensured that the soil is kept evenly moist. You can achieve this by adding plenty of well-rotted garden compost or manure to soil or alternatively you can purchase a multi-purpose compost and incorporate this. This will help to open up the soil allowing water to drain off as well as retaining adequate moisture. Adding to soil will also help it to warm up in early spring making for better root growth.

Care

Water plants regularly, especially if planted in containers or hanging baskets as these are likely to dry out quickly in the summer heat. If planting in containers you can add Water Beads to compost or operate an irrigation system. A regular application of well balanced fertilizer will help to improve plant vigor and flowering period.

Top Tip

Remove blooms as soon as they fade to encourage plants to bloom again. This will prolong the flowering period of your plants and help improve the look of your garden.

Nemesia

Nemesia Mello Red & White

This is unquestionably one of the most powerfully impulsive flower colors to be found recently in any introduction in the horticultural world. The top petals are a full blooded, strong vibrant red, in clear contrast to the lower petals creamy whiteness. Try our Water Beads

Blue Water Beads
